Professional Experience
Ismail was admitted to the Zambian Bar of Legal Practitioners in 2011 and is a Partner and Head of Litigation at TMS.
His experience extends to a number of different aspects of commercial litigation in various sectors including securities, pensions and banking and finance. Ismail is also well versed in public procurement and judicial review, having represented Clients before the superior Courts of Zambia.
Ismail has handled several complex matters not only before the Courts of Law, but also before quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Tax Appeals Tribunal, Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, Capital Markets Tribunal and the Lands Tribunal. He has also obtained extensive experience in employment and general corporate advisory services.
Ismail holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Zambia and a Master’s Degree in International Business Law from Washington College of Law, United States of America. Ismail also obtained a second Master’s degree in Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom. In addition to his practice, Ismail lectures Banking Law, Corporate Law and Employment Law, among other courses, at ZCAS University, University of Lusaka (UNILUS) and the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA).
